Insomniatic Dreams

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

I’m not really big into poetry. I think my love for poetry stops at Shel Silverstein, who I thought was a lady when I was a little kid. Now I understand why most poetry is tricky for me. (I do love Edgar Allan Poe, as well as some e.e. cummings and T.S. Eliot, depending on the poem, and Robert Frost, so I guess I don’t entirely dislike poetry. I just don’t go out of my way to read it.)

Anyway, my friend Liz of elizziebooks on YouTube recently reviewed Insomniatic Dreams, a poetry anthology by Shawna Howson.

After watching this review, I really want my dad’s steak. I think I’d like to give it Shawna’s stuff a shot though; I really enjoyed Robert Frost when we studied his poetry in eighth grade, so I’m a big fan of imagery. I also love hearing my friend Chick’s poems, so maybe I’m not a lost cause after all.

Liz’s review rocked — mmn, steak… — so please leave her some love either here or on the video page, and don’t forget to subscribe to her channel!
